Mohawk Valley Emerging Business Competition begins; $30,000 prize includes cash plus services
Growth-oriented businesses in Oneida and Herkimer Counties with an innovative business plan are being sought to enter the Mohawk Valley Emerging Business Competition.
The winner of the 2010 contest will be announced at the Leading EDGE Awards luncheon on May 18 at Hart’s Hill Inn.
The winner of the contest will receive a cash award of $15,000 and an additional $15,000 in professional services including a marketing plan developed by SUNYIT’s Business School.
“This competition gives small, local manufacturers an opportunity to accelerate their business,” said Steven J. DiMeo, President of Mohawk Valley EDGE. “A business plan is a critical step in any business venture, and we hope this contest encourages companies to organize and execute their plan,” Mr. DiMeo added.
The emerging business competition is open to companies in Oneida or Herkimer County with less than $5 million in annual revenue and a strong business plan.
Entries to the contest must be submitted by Thursday, March 25, 2010. Finalists will be announced by April 29, with the winner announced May 18.
