Today’s statistics indicate four out of five high school students continue to a higher education.

More than 60,000 children enter classrooms daily throughout the Mohawk Valley. The overall attendance rate at the high school level is almost 95%. All schools in the Mohawk Valley provide the comprehensive programs needed to meet the academic and special education needs of students.

State accredited schools include public, private, parochial, the Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES), and the New York State School for the Deaf in Rome.

Higher Education

The Mohawk Valley is home to eleven higher education institutions including; Colgate University, Hamilton College, Herkimer County Community College, Mohawk Valley Community College, Pratt- Munson-Williams Proctor Institute, St. Elizabeth School of Nursing, SUNY Morrisville, SUNY Institute of Technology, Utica College and Utica School of Commerce. Almost 25,000 undergraduate students call the Mohawk Valley Home during the school year.
